How to use the Five Elements Food Chart:

Choose according to Element, based on your personal Five Elements Astrology Chart

For example, suppose you have a lack of Earth Element in your Five Elements Astrology Chart,
the element you would want to strengthen is earth: click on the Icon for the Earth Element (Spleen, Stomach, Pancreas) and wait for the food chart for Earth to appear in a separate window.

From the Food Chart choose those foods that will stimulate the Earth Element, ie. warming foods, or Yang Foods.
If you, however have a surplus of a certain element in your Five Element Nutrition Chart, you would want to balance the Earth Element and you would choose those foods which are cooling or Yin for that Element.

How to use the Five Elements Food Chart:

Choose according to Organ, based on your present energy/ health situation

For example, suppose you would find out that your Kidney or Bladder energy is low, you would want to strengthen the Water Element: click on the Icon for the Water Element and wait for the Food Chart for Water to appear in a separate window.

From the Food Chart choose those foods that will stimulate the Water Element, ie. warming foods, or Yang Foods.
If you, however, would find out that your Kidney Energy is too strong, you would want to balance the Water Element and you would choose those foods which are cooling or Yin for that Element.

About Elements and Seasons:

In addition to your Astrology Chart and Present Health Condition, also the season must be taken into account when choosing foods according to the five Elements; while the characteristics of the water element (Cool and Wet) are prevalent in Winter, the opposite is true in summer, when the Characteristics of Fire (Hot and Dry) prevail. Thus if we lack the water element in our chart, we would want to increase the water Element in the Summer, when the Hot and Dry prevail, and warm the water Element in the Winter, when Cool and Wet prevail. Likewise, we would choose our Menu from those foods which are warming (mostly Yang), in order to stimulate the Element, and cooling Foods (mostly Yin) to Calm any Element.
