Milky Way, Center of the Galaxy, Iron Shirt and Kan Li Practice
From Prof. Stuart R. Harrop, dept. of Anthropology, University of Kent at Canterbury, UK An e-mail report to Master Chia:
You have asked about experiences with meditations under the Southern Hemisphere stars. I am occasionally below the equator but not usually so far as to make much difference. On one occasion in a very lonely location in Masai Mara in Kenya I saw a complete, star filled sky- a product of the wilderness and the absence of chemical and light pollution. I was very excited to see an uninhibited view of the Great Rift in the Milky Way (in Sagittarius) almost right above me.
I oriented my Crown Point to this area (which contains the Centre of the Galaxy, and is thought by some Physicists to contain an extremely potent Black Hole) and performed Iron Shirt and Bone Breathing in the Embracing the Tree position. Everything switched on in seconds and my bones and skin and body were very quickly breathing and pulsing as if something had come alive in me.
I then performed a very rapid Greater Kan & Li coupling in my Solar Plexus and instantly experienced a very powerful suction having no problem visualising an immense swirling mass of stars below and, of course, above. The steam was very powerful and, unusually for me, directed itself, without intervention on my part, throughout my body.
Soon the meditation resolved to a completely still yin phase, which was supercharged as if I was standing in the centre of the swirling mass of stars.
I have no idea how long I was in that place and was completely unaware of the night noises, which, according to others nearby included the growl of a stalking leopard. Needless to say, I stored a great deal of energy which stayed with me for days. I was also given a body memory and an energy body location as part of my path!
The orientation of the meditation and the direct link between skull points and stars etc. was relatively undirected but my Crown Point seemed to link me to the entirety of our galactic spiral. Consequently there is probably little specific assistance in terms of locating star bases comparable to our links with the Big Dipper and the Northern Pole Star. Perhaps this experience may corroborate or link up with the wilderness meditations of others, however. |
